Panagbenga 2018 Begins

The Biggest Festival in the region officially starts today, (February 1, 2018) this month long celebration  on its 23rd year will have the theme “Celebration of Culture and Creativity.”

This is also the year that the City Government is back on the helm of the premiere festival. Councilor Elmer O. Datuin will be the Baguio Flower Festival Chairman after an Administrative Order made my Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan. This decision was due to recommendations from the Commission of Audit in which all expenses, sponsorships, and donations shall be given to the public 3 months after the festival.

The Opening parade was spearheaded by Festival Chairman Councilor Elmer Datuin followed by key City Officials and the Executive Board of the Baguio Flower Festival Foundation, Inc.

The parade was then shortly followed by the Philippine Military Academy Band and Saint Louis University Marching Band.

On this year’s Panagbenga Festival 11 Elementary Schools will be battling it out to secure their slots on the Grand Streetdance Parade happening on February 24 in which only 8 will be selected to compete. Mayor Domogan also increased the subsidy and prices for this year’s parade so we can expect a much hard earned title.
