11 Tourist Holiday Tips When In Baguio

1. Walk. Walk. Walk.
Baguio City is fortunate to have a cool weather that is suited for walking all year round. Also, with the recent drops in temperature walking is a good way to sweat and keep yourself warm.
Unfortunately, during the peak tourist seasons, Baguio is also plagued with traffic that will make you crazy. We recommend that you explore the our beloved city through foot trust us when we say that 1-4 kilometers is a breeze. #WalkHappy

2. Carpool.
If travelling in groups we highly recommend that you carpool with your family/barkada since it is difficult to aquire parking space for one vehicle how much more for two or more right?

3. Use public transportation.
Baguio City takes pride on having the most honest and courteous taxi drivers in the Philippines (Yes we are self proclaiming this claim :p). Also, jeepney lines are easy to find for every location and our locals are very accommodating to point you out to the right direction.

4. Avoid iconic tourist locations.
Most tourists will go to the iconic spots like Mines View, Strawberry Farm, Burnham Park, etc. Our city has a lot to offer so we encourage you to lose yourself and discover places you haven’t visited yet.

5. Follow Traffic Rules!

6. NO SMOKING in PUBLIC.

7. Please stop making pictures at the middle of the sidewalk.
As much as we love sharing Baguio to visitors please do not be a nuisance. Taking selfies/groufies at the middle of the sidewalk is annoying for a lot of reasons which we believe we are all mature enough to understand.

8. NO TO DOUBLE PARKING.
Traffic is already horrible and we believe that our City is already taking measures to address the issue. But, for the time being let us all cooperate both tourist and locals and not add up to the problem.

9. NO PICKING OF FLOWERS.
There are some that has a fetish for this issue so more or less this is just a reminder. We know that the flowers in our parks are colorful and beautiful but do not detach them from the plant so that more people will be able to appreciate. Thank you!

10. Be mindful of your trash.
Garbage is an utmost concern not just in Baguio City but for the entire country. Please avoid throwing your trash along the road when travelling or in the streets.Also, if you see a trashbin that is already overflowing it would be nice if you could look for another or keep it until you see a less congested one. Each effort we all make would lessen and help our hardworking cleaning aides to fix this utmost problem.
