Anime characters visit Baguio

There was a time in my life wherein students did not go straight to the malls, parks, café’s, play billiards or the usual stuff millennial students do now.

Immediately after that last school bell you rush to the school gate and head straight home. I could still feel that cringe of happiness tingling whenever I get home on time to watch the afternoon anime.

Slam Dunk, Flame of Recca, Dragon Ball Z, Shaman King, Monster Rancher, Pokemon, Ghost Fighter, Mojacko, Doraemon, Hunter X Hunter, Lupin III, Naruto, One Piece, and a whole lot more.

This were the shows that made every kid happy when I was in elementary all the way to high school. The afternoon would not be complete if you missed out an episode, since internet was not that accessible during that time. There will be grumpiness during those long commercial breaks that eventually you memorize and a burst of anger when the show ends and you would have to wait another day to watch. Patience was quite a virtue we had to learn.

The millennials might be able to watch these shows in the internet, but the adrenaline and excitement that the 90’s kids felt it will be forever nostalgic.

Here are the first of our anime visitors in Baguio. Once the word is spread a lot more will come to visit us and give that sweet memory we surely miss.
